Sophia Wants to Be…a Painter is another storybook app from iOrbi – they are behind the Buddy the Bus apps. It’s got a completely different look from the Buddy stories. This one features simple illustrations that follow Sophia on a class trip to the art museum. The app gives you the ability to record your own voice telling the story, or to have your children record themselves. One trick to this app is to tap the screen while you’re playing the story. This will make the text disappear or reappear.
It appears that there will be more stories about Sophia as she explores more about the jobs that people do. As a mom of daughters I like that the main character in this story is a girl – I’ll be curious to see what jobs Sophia discovers next.
