Spelling Soup

I don’t know what’s more adorable about Spelling Soup – the illustrations or the sweet English girls who narrate it. Listening to them made me smile! In this app you see an illustration and hear the girls say the word. Tap “flip over” and there are letters on the screen. The letters have to be dragged to the correct spot to spell the word. As you move a letter the girls will say it’s name. When the letters are all lined up correctly they will spell the word and say it once again. Then you’ll get a new illustration. After a few times the app lets you “bounce” the letters to spell the word. They show up on the screen and you tilt the iPhone left and right to make the letters bounce to their spelling spot.

This is a cute spelling app and I think the narration on Spelling Soup may be my favorite yet. The developers are also taking word requests for future editions.

We downloaded the app and my 2 older girls (8 and 11) think it is fun – and my 4 year old loves his nightly soup and is learning his letters through this adorable app.

What do you think???

Individual Text Tones for Contacts

My 9 year old daughter told me about an iOS 5 feature that I was totally unaware of until last week. Miss S. showed me how to set up individual text tones for my contacts.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
