Spider Pebble

Spider Pebble was tricky for me. So tricky that I only made it past the first level and it took me about six tries to even get that far. This game features a poor spider who is living somewhere very cold. He has to catch his breakfast but there is ice on his spider web and the bugs just won’t stick. Your job is to help him throw pebbles at the ice, breaking it up. If you break up enough ice then the bugs will start to stick to the web. You tap and swipe your finger on the screen to toss the pebbles. It took me about three tries to get the hang of this and yes, I did read the instructions. I just couldn’t get my timing right. There is a set amount of bugs you must catch and a time limit on your efforts. I kept failing miserably and then the app would tell me too bad, my spider had to go to bed hungry. Talk about guilt. According to the description in the App Store the levels get progressively harder with snow, ice and faster bugs. I’m trusting that description because I’m apparently not the best spider helper.

I’d save Spider Pebble for your older kids. The graphics are cute and the bug recipes are clever. I like the app but hitting those pebbles is tricky. I think the ten and under crowd might be a little frustrated when they keep sentencing their spider to an evening with no dinner.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
