Serving Sizer Recipe Converter

My inbox has been full of the best apps lately – you developers have been on a roll! Serving Sizer came my way and I must say that it is a TERRRIFIC tool for moms. It gives you the ability to take a recipe and tweak it to fit your family’s size. Say for instance [...]

Woman’s Day Cooking Assistant

If you’ve ever spent time in a supermarket checkout line you’ve probably found yourself staring at a Woman’s Day magazine and the yummy foods they feature on the cover. Well, they’ve got a free app that features those foods: Woman’s Day Cooking Assistant. The app is broken down into several parts and I’ll give you [...]

Little Cook

Confession time. I’m not one of those moms who loves to have their kids in the kitchen with them. My kitchen is small and my view of cooking is one of survival. I do it so the family survives not because I really enjoy it. I want to be one of those fun moms with [...]

Apples 2 Oranges

Apples 2 Oranges is nifty little conversion app and it’d be handy to have in the grocery store. When you’re in the “Ingredient” mode you can compare nutritional content of different foods. If you want to see how many calories are in a cup of yogurt as opposed to a cup of ice cream, you [...]

What R U Eating?

Let me begin by saying that I’m not nearly as health conscious with food choices as I should be. I think I’ve eaten enough preservatives to guarantee myself a very long shelf life should the need arise. Most of the time I don’t  read that fine print but there was a time when my son [...]

Kitchen Calculator PRO

About two months ago I reviewed the Kitchen Calculator app. I love this app and often use it when I’m cooking and trying to convert amounts in recipes. But now the developer has created Kitchen Calculator PRO and can I just say this app has only gotten better. The basis behind the app is the [...]

McCormick Recipe Finder

Another recipe app, this one brought to you by the folks at McCormick. The recipes featured in this app use McCormick products. It’s a decent enough app but I think I’ve been spoiled by the Betty Crocker Mobile Cookbook. The McCormick Recipe Finder lets you browse through recipes – sorted by categories. You choose a [...]

Kitchen Calculator

My mom will back me up on this – I’ve always struggled with cooking measurement conversions. Remembering how many cups in a quart or pints in a gallon is a challenge for me. Math issues again, I know. One of the many reasons I love my iPhone is that it helps me work around those [...]

Betty Crocker Mobile Cookbook

* My apologies to anyone trying to read this review earlier in the week. I’m not sure what happened to the original post but most of it disappeared. Here goes another attempt.* Betty Crocker + my iPhone = pure awesomeness. I love this app!!! If you are responsible for feeding anyone you need to check [...]

iOS 5.01 Released: Includes Fix For iOS 5.0 Battery Life Issue

iOS 5 Gets Its First Update Thanks to my husband Zack for getting this post out about the new iOS 5.1 release. I’ve yet to install the update…but I’ll be following his instructions below. Shortly after the iPhone 4S hit the market a bug was discovered that severely impacted battery life on those new devices. [...]

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
