iKidNY

I’ve never been to New York City.  From what I’ve seen on TV and in the movies I’m sure the city would completely overwhelm me.  I can’t imagine navigating those busy streets (not to mention the subway) with all my kids.  I think we’d never leave the house. Well, Lara, a smart mom from NYC, [...]

Catalista: Volunteer Locally!

What an awesome app!! Catalista connects you with local nonprofit groups who are in need of volunteers. It brings opportunities that you might not know about right to your iPhone. I was a little skeptical about finding anything in my area. I live in the largest metropolitan area in my state but I wasn’t sure [...]

The Fun Kids Car Travel Game

Summer road trips are now a thing of the past but soon it will be time for the holidays. Before we know it we’ll be back in the car heading over the river and through the woods with bored children in the back of our van. The Fun Kids Car Travel Game is an app [...]

AT&T Navigator & a Terrific Giveaway

I dash around town in a trusty 2002 Toyota Sienna van.  It’s a no frills model but it gets the job done, delivers us safely to our destinations and has been well loved. A few years ago my husband had to give up his trusty Corolla and he traded up (way up) to a tricked [...]

Free Translator

If you’re a mom who’ll be taking an exotic vacation this summer then you should check out the free Translator app. The app asks you to first choose a source language (that’d be English for me) and then choose a target language (I chose Finnish, just because). Now type in what you’d like translated and [...]

Surf Balance

My kids use my iPhone almost as much as I do. Some days even more. Right now they’re sticking with my apps but I know it’s only a matter of time before my oldest discovers Safari. We’ve talked to her about internet safety and have restrictions set up on our home computer but Safari is [...]

YPmobile

Did you all get the email from AT&T about the new YPmobile app (for yellowpages.com)? It found it’s way to my inbox last week and I figured I’d give the free app a try. In the YPmobile app if you tap the “Business” button you can search local businesses by typing in a keyword or [...]

6500+ Cool Facts

6500+ Cool Facts was a “check this app out” from my husband and I can see exactly why the app appealed to him- he loves learning new things and figuring out how stuff works.  The only thing this app does is give you random “cool facts”. They’ll show up one per screen and when you [...]

You enter in your child’s information (name, date of birth, height, weight, eye color, distinguishing features, etc.) as well as your own information. There are also fields to store your child’s medical and school information. [...]

iOS 5.01 Released: Includes Fix For iOS 5.0 Battery Life Issue

iOS 5 Gets Its First Update Thanks to my husband Zack for getting this post out about the new iOS 5.1 release. I’ve yet to install the update…but I’ll be following his instructions below. Shortly after the iPhone 4S hit the market a bug was discovered that severely impacted battery life on those new devices. [...]

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
