Breastfeeding

When I say that this app is the iPhone version of a safety pin on a nursing mother’s bra all of you out there who’ve nursed a child will have a pretty good idea of what I’m talking about. I’ve probably just thoroughly confused any male readers out there so go ahead and move along. [...]

The Pill

Gentlemen readers, stop now, this review is especially written for my readers who are of the female variety. Read on if you must, but don’t blame me if you suffer a case of TMI. Disclaimer over. Now ladies – The Pill is an app that’s designed to help you remember to take your birth controls [...]

iPilule

This app review is one that all of the men who proudly visit the iPhone Mom might want to just skip on past. I don’t think you’ll be able to relate to this one but I guess you never know. iPilule is a birth control reminder app. You set up the time of day that [...]

It’s Potty Time

Thankfully I’ve been done with potty training for awhile. I’ll have one more go at it with the baby in a few years but I’m not even thinking those thoughts yet.  The iPhone wasn’t around the last time I attempted potty training but guess what, now there are apps for that. One of those apps [...]

Baby Bump

My pregnancy ship sailed over four months ago when Baby J was born but the experience is fresh enough that I can still appreciate a nice pregnancy app. And Baby Bump is a nice one, a very nice one in fact. Apparently the folks at Apple think so too because it’s made their “What’s Hot” [...]

Wee Wee Kitty

Where do I begin with this app? I guess we can start with this morning when my ten year old daughter says to me, “Mom I was playing your phone this morning and tried Wee Wee Kitty and I thought it was going to be ‘wee wee’ like in France but it wasn’t”. This was [...]

Facebook Reborn

How many of you out there are on Facebook? I am and I think it’s a nice way to kill time and stay in touch with folks. I’ve reconnected with old friends from college and high school, even elementary school. I’ve also found a way to keep tabs on my siblings even though we’re spread [...]

iPeriod – Update

This app is currently on sale for $1.99. It had my favorite calendar feature of all the “period” apps I’ve looked at it. It’s now $2.00 less then it was when I reviewed it originally. To see my original review search iPeriod. Available at iTunes

ShyBladder & iNeedaWee

I stumbled upon these apps and couldn’t believe what they’re used for. They play various sounds of running water to help you, well you can probably figure it out from their names. The idea of these apps seemed completely ridiculous to me, at first. Then my mom brain got working and I thought that these [...]

uPMS

I don’t even know where to start with this app. It’s purpose is to track the woman in your life’s menstrual cycle and then give you a heads up when she might be suffering from PMS. Your husband/boyfriend enters in the last start date of your cycle and then the uPMS gives him an “update” [...]

Individual Text Tones for Contacts

My 9 year old daughter told me about an iOS 5 feature that I was totally unaware of until last week. Miss S. showed me how to set up individual text tones for my contacts.

iOS 5.01 Released: Includes Fix For iOS 5.0 Battery Life Issue

iOS 5 Gets Its First Update Thanks to my husband Zack for getting this post out about the new iOS 5.1 release. I’ve yet to install the update…but I’ll be following his instructions below. Shortly after the iPhone 4S hit the market a bug was discovered that severely impacted battery life on those new devices. [...]

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
