Tiny Drivers: Schoolbus! Review Nikki November 5, 2012 $1-$2, Age, Education, iPad, Preschoolers, Price, Reviews, Toddlers The new Tiny Drivers: Schoolbus! app is perfect for little ones who are learning their letter sounds and practicing new words. This app features a couple different game modes: A-Z Show & Tell and Letter Search. Both of these game modes are perfect for little ones who are learning their alphabet and letter sounds. I thought that the app was very cute and the colorful, cheery graphics and animations would appeal to young children. To begin playing, children will first choose their bus driver, either a little boy or a little girl. Then, kids will be able to select from two game modes: A-Z Show & Tell or Letter Search. The A-Z Show & Tell game mode is perfect for teaching children to recognize each letter of the alphabet and also the sound each letter makes. The focus in the Show & Tell mode is on word association with objects and letters by sounding out the first letter and then naming each object. I thought that this game mode was very cute, kids get to drive the bus along the road and then stop and pick up children waiting for a bus ride. Each passenger that gets onto the bus has an item, for example a banana – and then you will learn what the letter “b” looks like and sounds like. The other game mode, Letter Search, has children drive the bus along and pick up letters on the side of the road. As you pick up letters, their letter sound will be sounded out for kids to learn. The focus in the Letter Search mode is on teaching children to recognize each letter of the alphabet and the sound it makes. At then end of each mode, kids will drop off their students at the school! I really enjoyed the Tiny Drivers: Schoolbus! app and think that it would be a great app for teaching kids about short vowels and consonant sounds. The two game modes are perfect for younger children, because they have a nice balance of interaction and education. I think the app would definitely help little ones with their letter recognition, letter sounds, and object association as well. If you have children who are ready to learn their alphabet – I would highly recommend this app!
