Here’s an adorable Halloween app that will most likely be a hit with your youngsters all year long. Treat Street gives your kids a chance to go  trick-or-treating on the iPhone. The app begins in a costume shop with a character on the screen. Create the perfect costume by tapping the character’s top, middle or legs. The costume will change and the kids can put it together exactly the way they want it. Once they’re done in the “Costume Shop” they tap on the “Treat Street” button and they’ll be off to trick-or-treat. A street scene shows up and they should tap on the left or right of the screen to move along. When they come to a house they’ll need to tap on it. A door appears, tap on it a few times to knock. The door will open and they’ll be rewarded with a treat. Then it’s off to the next house. On the bottom right of the screen is a trick-or-treat bag icon. Tapping on this shows all the treats they’ve gathered. On the bottom left is a shirt. Tap on that to go back to the costume shop and change things up again.

We loved Treat Street at my house. The graphics are charming and my kids loved the concept. They had a great time dressing their characters and virtually trick-or-treating. I loved not having to  wander the streets with all the other sugar crazed neighborhood children.  Love this app!

Individual Text Tones for Contacts

My 9 year old daughter told me about an iOS 5 feature that I was totally unaware of until last week. Miss S. showed me how to set up individual text tones for my contacts.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
