TripList is a new app that is designed to help those who travel frequently to be more organized.  If you, or someone you know, travels for business frequently (maybe you, your husband, a friend) – this would be a great app to use.  Not only will TripList help you to organize your list of upcoming trips, it will also help you to organize a packing list for these trips.

To get started, you simply create a trip in the TripList app by typing in a name – you will be asked what type of trip this is – business, leisure, vacation, etc. (you may add your own custom trip type if yours is not on the list).  Once you have created your trip, you are able to add items that you will need to pack either individually or from the pre-populated items that are listed in the catalog.  The items catalog is quite extensive, and I thought it was great because it actually lists things that you could possibly forget to pack in the first place!  Another helpful feature is that once you have packed an item, you simply check the item off the list and the app keeps up with your percentage completion (i. e. 75% packed).  The TripList app also supports multiple users – you can assign each user a picture or avatar so that you may quickly switch between users.  Are you going on the same type of trip with a similar packing list often?  There is a template function for that – you can simply re-use trips that you might take often by setting up a template to save you time and the hassle of making a new list each time.  And, of course, you would want all of this trip data to be stored safely – so there is a convenient Backup & Restore with Dropbox feature just for that reason!

I should also mention that the TripList app has TripIt support – for frequent travelers who have a TripIt account, you may easily import trips from TripIt into the TripList app to save you time as well.  There is even an option to export trips in plain text to e-mail.  The e-mail option would be perfect for people on the go who would like to check on their TripList while out and about.

I thought that the TripList app was well-designed and quite user-friendly.  I think that this app would be very useful to frequent travelers and could possibly be a great time-saver.  I would definitely recommend checking this app out if you travel often!
