Wheels on the Bus is a very clever, very entertaining app for kids. Each screen shows a different part of the song, "The Wheels on the Bus". Touch the arrows on the bottom right and left of the screen to move forward or backward in the song. Touch the screen and slide your finger around to make different things happen. Watch for a little hand to appear on the screen. It shows you where to slide and touch. The illustrations are adorable and I love how interactive the app is.

If you touch the music notes in the top left corner a screen opens up showing you different music options. You can listen to Wheels on the Bus played on a violin or kazoo, sung in Italian or Gibberish. There are a ton of choices. Just touch the option you want and it’ll download to the app. A checkmark shows up and when you go back to your  story, that’s you’ll hear it played while. Now here comes my favorite part and the thing that makes this app a complete winner at our house. Your kids can record themselves singing the lyrics to the song.  You could do it too if you really wanted. My kids absolutely love doing this and my four year old is constantly recording silly  lyrics to make his big sisters laugh. The instructions on the screen are simple enough that your kids can record themselves over and over and over again. Much to your delight!

A delightful app and totally worth the $.99.

Individual Text Tones for Contacts

My 9 year old daughter told me about an iOS 5 feature that I was totally unaware of until last week. Miss S. showed me how to set up individual text tones for my contacts.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
