WordUs2

December 21, 2010

WordUs2 is a fun and addicting app but it was maddening! I kept thinking to myself, I should be able to get these words. They must be so obvious. And they were which only reinforced what I’ve been believing all along. Having children takes away brain cells.

Here’s how you play. Decide if you want to play a quick start game or if you’d like to select a game mode. If you choose quick start the game will immediately begin for you. To play the game you are shown a row of boxes with one letter filled in. You must figure out what word is behind those boxes. You do this by filling in letters. Once you’ve entered in letters the game will tell you how you did with your guesses. If one of the letter squares turned orange it means you guessed a letter in its correct place. If one of the letter squares now has a yellow circle in it then you guessed a correct letter but it’s not in the correct spot. You continue on like this until you’ve figured out the mystery word.

If you decide to select a game mode then you have four different choices. The modes are “Calm & Collected”, “Every Guess Counts”, “Think Fast” and “Six Minute Sprint”. Once you’ve chosen your game mode you can select the word length. Choices range from five to eight letters long. After that the basic game play is the same but there will be a twist or two depending on which mode you chose.

It’s a simple and fun game but also a game that had me scratching my head wondering what happened to all the words I used to know.

Chalk Walk

Chalk Walk is a very unique iPad app. It has been developed to help your children improve the pincer grip they use to hold a pencil.

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
