X-Ball

X-Ball was developed by a thirteen year old. Way to go young people, I am seriously impressed! The idea is to use your finger to guide a ball through a maze to the yellow portal. Tap the screen in the direction you want the ball to move and the longer you hold your finger on the screen the more thrust your ball will have. This game also uses the principle of gravity so you’ll have to take that into account. The default setting on the game is “hard”. To switch to the easier mode go to the main iPhone settings. You’ll see the app there, tap it and you can adjust the difficulty.

Confession time. I had to adjust the difficulty and even then I still found X-Ball to be too tricky for me. It took me an embarrassing number of tries to get past the first few levels. On the easy mode even. I think this would be a very frustrating app for younger kids. You need patience and the ability to think through your moves to have success with X-Ball. Kudos to Drew for creating such a challenging app.

WebMD Baby

WebMD Baby was released earlier this month and it is awesome! Seriously one of the best “baby” apps I’ve seen to date

What I Do

I review iPhone apps for moms. I have a decent grasp of techy things but the technical guts (for lack of a better word) of how the apps work are beyond me. So my reviews will be practical and purely subjective. Reviews for moms by a real life, actual mom. My kids will vouch for me.
