Grocery shopping for the modern family should be nothing less than modern, and with the help of great apps such as AnyList by Purple Cover, stress-free shopping is just a few clicks away. We’ve reviewed quite a few Grocery Shopping apps here at the iPhone Mom. Most recently, Rachael highlighted them in a special newsletter, which you should definitely check out if you haven’t already done so.

AnyList is another great app in a category that strives to make shoppers more productive and efficient, and spend less time shuffling between hand-written lists. AnyList allows you to add ingredients to multiple lists, which is great if you do your shopping at a few different stores as I do. It also automatically categorizes your item into “Dairy” or “Bakery”, etc so that you can easily locate items in your grocery store.

The best feature about AnyList is the sharing function, that allows you to share lists with anyone you’d like. This way, if you’re out at the grocery store and your husband realizes one more thing that he needs you to pick up, he can just update the list and you’ll be notified of the change right on your phone. Or, if you want to split up the shopping, you can send some items and keep some for you to pick up. Also, if you’re anything like me, you realize things that you need when you don’t always have access to a pen and paper, so with AnyList you can just plug it right into your phone because your list is always with you!

As a bonus feature, AnyList features recipes for some dinner inspiration. In the recipes section, you can search by main ingredient, ‘beef, chicken, fish, pasta, pork or turkey,’ which is great if you know that you have extra chicken in the freezer that night.  You can also search by publisher, which gives you quick access to recipes from Martha Stewart, Epicurious, Simply Recipes and Allrecipes. Instead of searching the internet for something to serve for dinner or for the big party coming up, you have it all in once place and can add the ingredients from the recipes right to your list.

AnyList is an awesome grocery list app that I believe will help make your grocery shopping experience a much more enjoyable one. And the best part? It’s free!

I’m intrigued by the recipes feature – it links to those web sites? Will definitely check it out, thanks!

Sasha, let us know what you think! I admit I am still a cookbook person as I don’t always trust receipes on the web. The nice thing about AnyList is that it is free!

Since there is no middleman involved, the prices are
almost always lesser than brick and mortar stores. Many e-stores also offer discounts over traditional brick and mortar outlets as they ship
goods out from a central warehouse and can afford to pass on those savings to
the consumer. Baby – Oye – As the name suggest, this website is famous for baby products like Diapers, Bath,
    Skincare and Gifts.
