Sorting candy is the name of the game in Candy Party where children are given the challenge of sorting and classifying different types of chocolates. On the easy levels they’ll be asked to sort them by a specific criteria (size, color, pattern) but on the advanced levels they’ll be told to share the candy with a specific number of friends. Children will have to look at that number and then look at the candy to figure out how it can be classified and sorted into that many different groups.

Candy Party keeps score as your child sorts the candies and it integrates with Game Center. The game was easy to learn and I liked the variety of ways children were challenged to sort the chocolates. Having two levels of difficulty is nice. My only suggestion for the app would be to tone down the amount of time the animated animals are on the screen. Right now they pop up each time you move a piece of candy and I found this distracting. I think it’s great to include them and there should definitely be words of encouragement but maybe not the animation each time.

There are a number of other Math titles in the iMao line of apps.
