The Clickity-Clack Alphabet app is a great app for those children who are ready to learn how to read and write. With Clickity-Clack Alphabet, children can learn both uppercase and lowercase letters, as well as beginning letter sounds of familiar objects. I thought that the Clickity-Clack Alphabet app would be perfect for preschoolers. I will definitely be using this app with my three year old son.
This app is a great introduction into reading and writing as it allows children to sound out letters and trace them. Kids can trace with a finger, or for those ready to start writing with a tool, a stylus. There are fun animal-themed alphabet activities for each letter. The activities are multi-skill, and include: letters (both upper and lower case), alphabet, beginning sounds, ending sounds, letter-sound association, letter-picture association, spelling, vocabulary, reading, tracing, visual perception, and following directions.
I really enjoyed the variety of activities. One of my favorites – kids will see a turkey and hear the word “turkey” pronounced, now they have to move the missing letter “t” into the row of letters that spell the word. I thought that this type of activity was great, because it teaches beginning letter sound, pronunciation, letter-picture association and spelling all in one! I also like that there are lots of animations and interactions to keep children engaged and excited about learning. There is a lot of audio praise as well, such as “You’ve got it!” and “Terrific!”.
I really enjoyed the Clickity-Clack Alphabet app. I would definitely recommend this app to the parents of preschoolers and those children who are beginning to read and write. I will be playing this app with my son for sure!
