Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure accompanies the new Dora episode of the same name. I’ve caught most of the episode here and there on TV this week and I was pleased to see that the app doesn’t skimp on the story. Swiper the Fox has found himself on Santa’s naughty list and Dora must help him travel through time to learn the true meaning of Christmas. The app has taken the episode and turned it into an interactive experience for preschoolers. As they move through the story readers can tap on the screen for surprises, help Dora solve problems and guide her around the screen. They can listen to a narration, complete with Dora’s voice, or they can read the story by themselves with a parent.

The quality of this app is terrific and you get plenty of content and games for your money. I tried out the iPad HD version and the graphics were amazing. It was like having Dora right in front of me. Preschooler dream come true! Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure works as a stand alone app or as an add on to the episode. The app has been so well done that I didn’t feel like it was thrown together to market with the episode. You can tell that it’s been thought out and well executed. I hope this is a glimpse of what’s to come with future Dora apps. Hint, hint!
