The Emil & Pauline in the City app is a great find for preschoolers and younger children. With Emil & Pauline in the City, kids will play a fun and interactive hidden objects game! Emil the polar bear and Pauline the penguin will guide children around the city as they play an “I spy with my little eye…” style game. I really enjoyed this app and thought that it would be a great way to help younger children improve their concentration and memory skills.
With Emil & Pauline, kids can prepare for preschool and school by learning how to focus and improve their memory as well. This app is geared towards children that are ages 4 and up. I like how children do not need to know how to read yet, as all instructions are given verbally…so kids can just listen and follow instructions. There are a variety of tasks within the app, such as: looking for shadow images (match the image to its shadow), looking for numbers and letters in the park, the supermarket and the city, and looking for hidden objects within the city.
My son really liked the animations and sounds when he found the hidden objects. The graphics and animations are bright and cheery, and help keep children engaged. I love the variety of the app, there are more than 90 hidden objects within the three pictures. The app includes 9 educational games, as well as one bonus game. This app is available in both English and German.
I really enjoyed playing Emil & Pauline with my 3 year old son. He is still a little young for the app, and needs help finding objects, but he is getting the hang of some aspects. I would definitely recommend this app to parents of preschoolers!
