Do you have little ones who are learning their alphabet? The Faces iMake – ABC app puts a fun spin on learning the ABC’s. With Faces iMake – ABC, kids will not only learn their ABC’s – they will also get to “build” their ABC’s. I thought that this app was original and unique and I enjoyed the concept.
One thing that I like about this app is that it has very kid-friendly controls. On the main screen your child will choose a letter from the tray at the bottom of the page. Once a letter has been selected the letter will be pronounced and then an object that represents the letter will appear on the right of the letter (word for object is pronounced as well). For example, if your little one chooses “E”, they will see an elephant. But, the really cool feature is that the elephant is made up of lots of little components – balloons, dice, and other fun objects. All of the components (parts) of the animal will then appear on the bottom of the screen and the child will be asked to “rebuild” the animal or object. Rebuilding the object/animal is done by dragging and dropping each piece into the outline of the animal. I thought that this “rebuilding” concept was quite fun, and adds a level of difficulty. One of my favorites is the horse that is made up of chess pieces and dice among other things, very cute! When kids complete rebuilding an object they will be rewarded with a fun animation and sound effect…and then on to the next one!
I enjoyed the Faces iMake – ABC app. I think that this app would be great for helping children learn the alphabet, as well as helping them improve their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills (by dragging and dropping to rebuild objects). I would definitely recommend this app to parents of young children who are learning their ABC’s!
