Help your little one learn to identify animals and objects, while connecting them to their names and sounds with the new app Fun for Kids HD. This engaging app by Tycero features seventy images (divided into four categories: animals, baby animals, vehicles, and things), ten jigsaw puzzles, a memory game, and the game One Out of Four. The four categories of pictures all feature high quality images. When a picture is touched the name of the animal or object is announced. Pressing the sound button in the top right corner of the screen produces a sound that is related to the image (for example an image of a dog would have the accompanying sound of a dog barking). Ten puzzles of drawings featuring animals and the Fun for Kids icon are broken into nine jigsaw pieces. I liked that the puzzles had a ghost image of the completed puzzle to help kids figure out where the individual pieces fit into the whole. In the memory game, your child will need to match six pairs of the images taken from the above mentioned picture galleries. When your little one has correctly found a match, they will hear the sound that is connected to that image. Your young child will be rewarded with the sound of cheering once all six matches have been found and a new game will begin. In the game One Out of Four, four images will be displayed on the screen and the announcer will say the name of the subject of one of them. After the correct picture has been identified, the game will reset with a new grouping of images. Fun for Kids HD is full of a variety of pictures and games designed to keep your toddler or preschooler entertained.
I found Fun for Kids HD fairly easy for a young child to navigate. There are large right and left arrows on the sides of the screen for navigating around the menu screen. Once in a picture gallery, you can move between images with a swiping motion. If your little one wishes to exit their current activity, they simply press the home button to return to the main menu screen. Four languages are featured in the setup of this app, English (American or British), German, Spanish, and Swedish. I would suggest that the developers add a verbal declaration of what the images/categories on the menu screen are; for little ones who don’t know how to read it is a little hard for them to find what activity they want to play without the help of an adult. I hope that this will be included in an update, it would also be nice to see more images added in updates to keep the app fresh and enticing to young kids. Overall Fun for Kids HD is an entertaining app packed with lots of games to keep your little one absorbed.
