Guided Play is a great new interactive app for parents and children to make playtime not only fun, but a time to learn new things as well. With the Guided Play app, parents will be given 77 stimulating activity tips for five different sound related areas: Drumming, Clapping, Shaking, Listening and Speaking. By doing these types of activities together, parents and children will be able to bond and give the child’s play purpose. I thought that this was a good idea for parents and something that could be helpful when planning activities to do together with your child.
The content in the Guided Play app was written and is presented by a primary teacher from England, and is intended for parents who wish to enhance the educational aspect, as well as the fun for playtime with their young children. As I mentioned before, there are 77 stimulating activity tips included in the app. The app was developed with children ages 1 to 4 1/2 in mind. In addition to the activity tips, there are also 13 video clips for parents to watch as well. And, if parents would like to keep track of things – there is a Progress Summary feature that allows you to record the words and concepts that you have introduced with your child during playtime.
I thought that the Guided Play app was unique and featured an interesting concept. I think that parents could use this app as a tool to help them while making playtime educational and fun for their little ones. If you are a parent of an infant or toddler – be sure to check out Guided Play!
