Do you wish you could keep up with the current news, but you just don’t have time to sit down and watch a news program? Hourly News is a new app designed specifically for listening to news on-the-go. With Hourly News, you are able to use a simple app to keep up with the most recent news updates from major media news outlets.

The Hourly News works as a podcast app, and lets you listen to any (or all) of the following news sources: NPR, BBC, CBC, ABC, CBS, WSJ, CNN, and FOX news updates. As a user, you simply choose the news sources that you wish to follow (you can place them in order of preference) and then you will be able to play the most recent news summaries (clear and concise). The only cost is the $.0.99 to download the app. The news summaries will automatically play when the app is opened and you simply swipe across to change news sources (or the app will automatically advance to the next news feed when finished). Another useful feature is that the app will play in the background if you would like to listen to the news summaries while doing something else on your device.

I thought that the Hourly News app was very simple and straightforward. I really like the idea of being able to listen to quick, concise news segments on-the-go. I recommend this app to anyone who would like to stay in touch with the world news, but has limited time to do so.
