Kid-Capsule: Family Event Journal wants to put “your child’s life story at your fingertips”. You can create profiles for all of your children and keep track of a family’s worth of big moments all in one place. Each profile has a place for you to record your child’s general information, birthday, gender, height, weight and eye color. While you’re looking at the profile you can easily add in photos and videos. These are saved to a gallery and can be viewed within the app or shared with others via email and Facebook.
In addition to the profile information each child has an events section. This is where you record the big and little things that happen in their life. Kid-Capsule comes with an extensive list of event categories. When you create an event you give it a title and note the date, time and place it occurred. Then add in a description and the type of event it was. Kid-Capsule provides ideas for you to choose from but “other” is also an option. You are able to add photos and video to the events. When you go to do this you’ll have the option of choosing a photo from your child’s Kid-Capsule gallery or the photo library on your device.
The only feature that I found lacking in Kid-Capsule was the ability to add in my own categories. Overall I found it to be user friendly and easily navigated. I appreciated that the app gave me the option to see events as a list or calendar view. I also liked the fact that I could add in photos to my child’s gallery and then assign them to events as needed. Options are always good!
