Today, I have two great apps in one review post – Kids Trucks: Numbers & Counting and Kids Trucks: Preschool Learning. Do you have any little ones in your house that like trucks? Or how about little ones that like to “drive” things around? Both of these apps teach toddlers with a fun spin – through playing with trucks and construction equipment.

Kids Trucks: Numbers & Counting

While using the “Numbers” game in this app, children will learn their numbers by using the crane to lift numbers up and drive them across the screen to place them in a dump truck. The app has a unique interactive design in which your little one can push large buttons on the sides of the screen (one for drive and one for reverse) to operate the crane, then by using the up/down arrows you may pick up the numbers and drop them into the back of the dump truck. Your child will be asked to pick up each number and place it in the dump truck until they have collected all the numbers.

In the “Counting” game, a variety of trucks will drive onto the screen. Once all of the trucks have driven to their positions, your little one may count the trucks by touching each one. After you have counted all the trucks, a new set will drive on and the game will continue.

Kids Trucks: Preschool Learning

There are various learning modes in this app, some of which you may play in the free download and others which you have to unlock by purchasing the full version. The main learning mode which you can play for free is the shapes mode – in this section your child will be asked to touch on different shapes – “push the triangle”, etc. In free play, you may play with numbers and trucks.

I enjoyed the concept of both of these apps and feel that they would be perfect learning tools for little ones who like trucks and like to “make things go”. I thought the arrows and circle buttons on the screen were large and perfect for little hands and the interactions and sounds of the app help to hold interest. I know that my son and I will enjoy driving the trucks around and learning to count together.

Also, I have previously reviewed another one of Scott Adelman’s apps, Construction Alphabet, which is another neat interactive app for little ones – so, if you like this one I encourage you to check out Construction Alphabet as well!

*Both of the apps are available on Amazon (Kindle), Nook, and Android Markets as well.*
