Our house is full of quirky sayings and punny jokes, a tradition started long ago by my grandmothers. One was superstitious and you better believe she thought it was more than poor judgement for someone to walk under a ladder. The other often said you can’t fit a square peg in a round hole. The apps in this weeks contest might have had them both scratching their head as today’s kids learn quick reading association for number, color and many other English words while playing Ladder Chase. We’ll also see how things shape up in Squareland, where a little physics know how will have you working your way through 80 levels of puzzle based fun. Grandma would also say “Don’t take any wooden nickles” but be sure to take a second to register for the exciting apps in this week’s giveaway!

Ladder Chase: Chase the cranky Dodo through a vibrant and colorful action adventure world of ladders, creepy spiders and evil flowers in this English language learning game for kids. Dodo Ladder Chase is a fun action adventure game that teaches children new English words quickly through association of images with words and correct pronunciation through audio.
•Designed by language learning experts for kids aged 5-9 who have started reading in English
•Suitable for Primary school kids
•Older kids and adults will also enjoy playing Dodo Ladder Chase

How the game teaches English: The quick association of images with their words and pronunciation in the game reflects the way children naturally learn new words everyday e.g. A parent says ‘look at the dog’ and a child associates the image of the dog with the word. When reading, the child sees the written word and associates it with the word’s pronunciation and image.
