The MOVING BOOKS! app is a fun educational app for kids.  With MOVING BOOKS!, kids can enjoy lots of free animated stories and songs, including favorites like “Three Little Pigs” and “Jack and the Beanstalk”.  I thought that this app would be a great way to make storytime more interactive, especially for little ones.

Kids can read, watch, listen, dance and sing-a-long with a variety of educational stories and songs.  There are traditional folktales, fables, bedtime stories and popular fairy tales which come to life through fun animations.  Words appear on the screen to help children follow along and read.

Along the way, kids will join Prince Jajaja and his whimsical kingdom of characters that are ready to help them learn through play. The app is great for travel, as there is no internet connection required to play downloaded content (kids can watch offline). The app also works with AirPlay, so when you are home, you can enjoy the stories together on the big screen!

The app features two modes: “Read and Listen” and “Singalong and Dance”.  With Read and Listen kids can enjoy reading along to the stories.  In the Singalong and Dance mode, kids can sing along in a karaoke style jam session that features animated children’s songs, such as “Let’s Clap Our Hands”.  There are easy dance moves that help kids with their basic motor skills, self-expression and communication, too!

I really enjoyed MOVING BOOKS!  I would definitely recommend this app to the parents of younger children who are beginning to read, especially those who love singing and dancing as well.  I will be playing this app with my 5 year old son for sure!
