Pete’s Robot is an original story with a great tale about a boy named Pete and his endeavors to build and train a robot. Isn’t it every little boy’s dream to own a robot of their own that will be their sidekick? Pete has his dog, Spot, but they both agree it would be much more fun if they had a robot to join their duo.
The interactions and animations of Pete’s Robot are comical and fun. I really enjoyed all the interactions, because they are different than your typical app interactions – and you get to drag and drop, swipe, and even shake your way through the story! I felt like the author put a lot of time and thought into what the characters do in the story and how they interact with the app user – and it paid off – the interactions are great! Little ones will feel like they are helping Pete build his robot by using the tools and hearing their noises. One of my favorite parts of the story is when Pete’s robot wins 1st place at the city Dance-Off! I thought it was helpful that there is a question mark button in the top corner of the screen that little ones can push if they are unsure what to do next or need a clue about how to interact with the characters. I also enjoyed the graphics and text which have a “pencil-sketch” feel and fit the story very well. And the background music is so fun and upbeat!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Pete’s Robot story app. I recommend this app to those with children who like interactive apps and like to use their imagination. I know that I will definitely be reading about Pete and his robot with my little boy!
