PiratePhysicsFree is a new app that is sure to get your wheels turning.  The idea of this app is to get your pirate to the treasure through the use of physics and gravity.  I think that this app would be great for teaching children problem-solving skills while playing a fun game.

The app begins with a short cartoon sketch that explains why the pirates are trying to get to the treasure.  In order to get the pirate to the treasure chest, you will have gravity on your side as you guide the pirate to the goal while attempting to catch three magic stars in the process.  A perfect score is achieved when you collect all three stars and reach the treasure chest (three stars = perfect score, much like many other games on the market).  The beginning levels are quite simple, but quickly progress in difficulty.  At first you will only have to worry about breaking through a few wooden logs, then you must break through wooden crates and several other obstacles in your way.  You must pay careful attention not to let your pirate land on the floor or the game is over – you have to patiently lead him to the treasure chest and lean things in the direction he needs to go.  You will be able to play through the first 20 levels for free, and you can unlock the remaining levels (total of 60 levels) by downloading them for $0.99.

I enjoyed the PiratePhysicsFree app.  I think that this app will help to teach children about gravity and physics while playing a fun game with great pirate music.  I would recommend this app to those with children who enjoy learning games.
