This app is basically a children’s book with an interactive aspect. The story is about Sydney the Scarecrow who helps keep the pumpkin patch safe by shooing away the animals. Kids can help Sydney shoo away the animals by simply tapping, there is voice narration to help children know what to do and when to do it. There are lots of types of animals in the app – birds, rabbits, squirrel and more. One day, Sydney realizes that he wants the animals to stay because he wants a friend. Children can help Sydney make new friends among the animals, and discover the meaning of friendship! In addition to sharing a great message, the app also features wonderful artwork and colors.
I loved the artwork! The app is done in felt board style, all of the backgrounds and characters are made with pieces of brightly colored felt. I remember being a child and playing with felt boards, but rarely do children see them as often now. I love how this app restores a wonderful form of art with a modern twist.
I really enjoyed the Sydney the Scarecrow app. I love the felt board concept, the easy to use interface, the cute characters and the great story. I would highly recommend this app to parents of younger children!
