The Monsters Family is a wonderful new app designed especially for preschoolers.  As explained by the developer, “At iMagine Machine we have decided to create apps that can promote focus. We are calling this the ‘slow app’ movement. Every app we make has to fulfill this criteria….Our newest app The Monsters Family is a case in point. It has been designed so that preschoolers must focus on a single game with no distractions.  Even the voices of the characters within the app speak slowly and calmly. We built in lots of great rewards and virtual prizes to keep it exciting but it isn’t manic in any way.”  I thought that this approach to creating apps was insightful and that learning to focus is a very important skill for our children to learn.

The Monsters Family app is designed to help develop and reinforce some of the most important foundations for preschooler learning (ages 2 through 5); such as learning about colors and words and much more!  This app features six different games that are each led by a different member of the Monsters family.  Not only are the games fun and educational, I thought the design and navigation were very kid-friendly.  I also loved the sounds and animations, and think that kids will enjoy the fun characters in the Monsters family.

The six games included are: 1) COLORS – Scrumpy, the lovable family dog, will ask kids to feed him his favorite colors – teaches colors and color names, 2) MATCHING – kids will need to find different objects and match them up – teaches concentration, observation, and memory skills, 3) COUNTING – count the different objects that each Monster likes – teaches numbers and counting skills, 4) WORDS – kids will help the Monsters with everyday words by naming objects around the room – teaches words and word recognition skills, 5) SPOT THE DIFFERENCE – kids will help the Monster family find the object that looks different – teaches concentration and observation skills, and 6) SILHOUETTES – kids will help the Monster family match the correct shape with the silhouette – connects right and left-brain thinking by encouraging kids to use visual ability and spatial understanding skills.

I really enjoyed the Monsters Family app.  I felt like the six games included would help to teach many useful and important skills to preschoolers.  The app features a very fun and educational design, without having too many “bells and whistles”.  I will definitely be using this app with my son and encourage parents of preschoolers to check it out!

Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason seemed to be on the internet the easiest thing to be aware of.

I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people consider
worries that they just don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top
as well as defined out the whole thing without having side-effects
, people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more.
