The Witch and the Christmas Spirit is a fun festive app for children.  This app is a fun mixture of stories, games and cartoons.  I thought that this would be a fun app for those looking for a unique Christmas storybook app with a great message.  I should mention that you can check out the beginning of the story for free, if you enjoy it – you can purchase the full version through an in-app purchase.

Through The Witch and the Christmas Spirit kids can experience a story that shows what having the Christmas spirit is all about.  The witch is in the middle of getting ready for Halloween, when suddenly things take a turn and she is needed to save Christmas – Santa and the elves are sick and need help!  It’s up to the witch now to find the antidote and save Christmas!  I thought that this was a fun story and one that kids would enjoy.

In addition to the story about saving Christmas, there are fun educational games to play.  Kids can use their math skills as they help build a snowman, review the alphabet in Santa’s post office, use their observation skills as they make toys, and test their reflexes as they train the reindeer for the obstacle course!  There are lots of fun interactions throughout the story as well, kids can touch the screen, slide their finger across and even shake the screen to make things happen!

The app is geared towards children 4 through 10 years old, and you can choose the difficulty level of the games based on your child’s age (3 difficulty levels).  There is a “Read to me” mode as well as a “Read by myself” mode.  The app includes 24 interactive 3D pages and 6 games total.

I really enjoyed The Witch and the Christmas Spirit.  I would definitely recommend this app to parents who are looking for a new unique story to share with their child.  I will be sharing it with my 5 year old!
