Each time kids play the ZooPAL – A Gift story, they will solve a series of tasks to help Mr. Hati, Matty and their zoo animal friends to retrieve the mysterious box and rescue a new animal. This app was designed to help preschoolers build critical thinking skills. There are 160 different storylines possible, so as I said before, this app definitely has replay value. Kids will love that the adventure changes each time! Instead of simply watching a story unfold, kids are actively engaged in the course the story takes, as they move the narrative forward by solving tasks and influencing the outcome. The entire storyline changes each time the story is played, not just your child’s choices, but also where the box is stuck, the tools that kids have, and the animals that children will meet!
In addition to the uniqueness of the app, it also features great graphics. This app features hand-drawn, original artwork that is beautifully done. There is also a Parent mode that allows parents to read with their child (and gives them tips to extend their child’s learning). Parents are also able to create an account to monitor their child’s learning progress.
I enjoyed the ZooPAL – A Gift app. I think that kids will really enjoy being able to steer the outcome of the story by making choices. I would recommend this app to parents who would like to begin teaching their child about making choices and cause and effect.
